Asurion, an insurance company for phones and other devices, acquired uBreakiFix last month. uBreakiFix is the official phone repair company for Google Pixel devices and Samsung Galaxy phones. Along with new store openings, it might be easier to get your insured devices immediately repaired.
UBreakiFix, the chain of repair clinics for electronic devices, is thriving off consumers’ careless mishaps. The company rolled out 25 new stores in the second quarter, bringing its total to 522 across North America.
The company, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary in April, opened stores in Oklahoma; Texas; and Ontario, Canada, among other places.
The company says it plans to open another 25 stores in the third quarter, expanding into Hawaii and into Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In July, they stated that they planned “to maintain this momentum by continuing to innovate and align themselves with the right partners that allow them to deliver a truly unique repair experience”.
The immediate plans for the merger aren’t clear, but Asurion’s strategy could be to push its customers over to uBreakiFix locations to get their insured devices immediately repaired.
